Osmond Offers

Poolside Park offers swimming pool facilities, sand volleyball, horseshoe pits, and two picnic shelters for summer use, and playground equipment for children.

Memorial Park offers a quiet place to enjoy the flowers and trees as well as playground equipment for small children.

A ball park complex offers the community two ball fields for baseball and softball. One is equipped with lights for evening use. The complex is used by all ages, especially Osmond's Summer Youth Program, an adult-supervised youth program for children of all ages.

Downtown Osmond offers:

  •  6-lane Bowling Alley with bowling for all ages
     
  •  Public Library which serves young and old alike

  • Senior Citizen Center with entertainment for the older citizen on a daily basis.


  • Near Osmond

    Area Lakes and Recreation include Willow Creek about 15 minutes away.  Grove Lake is about 30 minutes west.  Just a short drive north from Osmond and you are on the Missouri River and Lewis and Clark Lake.  Lewis and Clark is a major lake located behind Gavin’s Point Dam.  It offers all forms of water recreation.  Downstream from Gavin’s Point Dam, the Missouri River has been classified as a National Recreation River.

    Northern Nebraska enjoys two wonderful State Parks.  Niobrara State Park and Ponca State Park.  Both are within an hours drive of Osmond.

    Day trips will find you in the middle of the Nebraska Sandhills.  It is a totally different environment with hundreds of recreation options.  The Niobrara River near Valentine consistently ranks as one of the Top Ten canoe rivers in North America.  Thousands of visitors each year enjoy the scenery and wildlife on this pristine river.
     

    Osmond offers variety for both hunters and fisherman.  Hunters will enjoy a variety of options from upland game birds to big game.

    Golfers will enjoy four courses, all within a 15 minute drive.

     


    Weather

    Osmond enjoys four distinct seasons each year. Extremes in summer and winter temperatures are usually short lived.
